Net, Set, Go into Netball!

If you are aged between 5 and 8, love being active and having fun then Net Set Go is for you!

The Herbert River Netball Association is calling for all girls and boys aged 5 to 8 to come and join them this Tuesday at 5:30pm for their Net Set Go program.

The Suncorp Net Set Go program is Australia’s official netball starter program for children interested in playing netball.

Association President, Maddyn White said the program was a chance for young players to learn netball basics, get outside and make new friends.

“Our program is a fun and active learning experience for both boys and girls,” Miss White said.

“For a lot of kids this is the first time they will pick up a netball and for a lot of them this is where their love of the game begins.

“Our coaches teach participants basic ball skills, drills and other fun activities, building on those foundations for them to eventually take the court and play their first game,” she said.

The Association kicked off competition games on Tuesday after COVID caused the cancellation of the season last year.

“Everyone, especially our players, are so glad to be back after having to cancel last year’s season,” Miss White said.

“We have some great talent in our small town and it’s important we provide a pathway for them to grow and achieve their sporting goals.

“We are thankful we can operate this year and give our members an opportunity to play the sport they love in their home town.

“We are looking forward to seeing new and returning Net Set Go participants this week.

“It’s already shaping up to be a great season of netball,” she said.

Net Set Go starts this Tuesday 16th March at 5:30pm at the Netball Courts.
