A RALLY call is being made to drum up a bumper crowd for the Grazioli Shield tonight – which marks Ingham Football Club’s last home fixtures of the season.
There is a buzz in the air after the women won the North Queensland reserve league and they cemented that title with a 2-0 home win against rivals Brothers last night.
Today it is the men’s teams in action as they face Brothers – the reserves playing at 5 pm followed by the first team at 7 pm.
It is the 22 anniversary of the shield that is named after former Wolves player and manager Michael Grazioli – whose sons Haydn and Jonte play for the first team.
Haydn dons the ‘keepers gloves and Jonte is the club’s top scorer this season – and has been one of the stand-out players.
The event normally coincides with the Italian Festival, but due to its Covid cancellation it is being played on the final home fixture.
Club sport is the life-blood of this community and this is a chance to bring the family to witness what will be a thrilling event.
The bar is open and food and snacks are being sold on site.
Get yourself and your family down to Augie Pane Field tonight and support your local club.
