CRUSHERS under-15s kept up their charge towards the finals with a 42-12 victory over JCU Saints.
The win kept our boys in fourth place – one point ahead of Centrals, who are fifth.
After a slow start, River snapped into gear in the second-half and, despite only having one player on the bench having lost Hunter Winkel to injury, powered their way to a convincing victory in the second period.
Our juniors face a tough game at home today against second placed United Suburbs – the side that beat them 16-10 when they met earlier this season.
With a finals place at steak, the game is a must-watch for all local rugby league fans.
Kick-off is at 1.20 pm in Ingham tomorrow and a vociferous home crowd could make the difference.
Crushers under-12s sit on top of the ladder and are yet to taste defeat this season.
They had a bye last week and will be looking forward to stepping on to the field when they face Saints tomorrow.
Benny Mingon, Levi Murray and Finn Johnson played well for Crushers under-9s in their loss to an unbeaten Bowen side and our under-8s played out an entertaining match against Centrals Gold; no score was kept in the high-scoring fixture.
The under-10s bounced back from defeat to score six tries in their draw with Charters Towers.
Kayden Crisafulli scored a hattrick with Cooper Floyd, Brady Venables and Adrian O’Neill grabbing the other tries.
Jackson Hodge, Liam Swarbrick and Joel Accornero were solid for Crushers.
A feast of rugby league is on offer in Ingham tomorrow – for the last time this season.
