MR Brad Fish has been appointed to the Board of Queensland Sugar Limited (QSL) as a Non-Executive Director.
Mr Fish has more than 40 years’ experience in the development and management of bulk port infrastructure, including time as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman of North Queensland Bulk Ports, CEO of the Ports Corporation of Queensland, a senior consultant to Adani on the Abbot Point port development, and adviser to maritime technology company OMC International.
He has also served as a Director with Ports Australia, DBCT Holdings Pty Ltd, the Queensland Ports Association, and Regional Economic Development authorities.
QSL Board Selection Committee Chairman Kevin Borg said Mr Fish’s appointment followed a nationwide recruitment process, and fills the Board vacancy created by the recent departure of Craig Doyle, who stepped down after nearly six years’ service.
“While we identified a number of strong candidates, Mr Fish was a stand-out, combining significant bulk port infrastructure experience with strong commercial acumen and values well aligned to QSL’s industry-service ethos,” Mr Borg said.
QSL Chairman Guy Cowan thanked the Board Selection Committee for driving a thorough and effective recruitment process, and said he looked forward to working with Mr Fish.
“QSL’s bulk sugar terminal operations division delivers immense value to the Queensland sugar industry, and so I have no doubt that Mr Fish’s expertise in the Queensland port sector will prove invaluable,” he said.
Mr Fish will commence a three-year Board term on 1 July 2022 and will Chair the QSL Operations Committee and sit on QSL’s Audit and Risk, and People and Remuneration Committees.
His fellow QSL directors are Guy Cowan (Non-Executive Director and Chair), Sarah Scales (Non-Executive Director), Mark Hayward (Non-Executive Director) and Greg Beashel (Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer).
All Non-Executive appointments to the QSL Board are made by the QSL Board Selection Committee, which is comprised of two grower representatives and two miller representatives.
