
Kindness is spreading sunshine into other people’s lives, regardless of the weather
The most valuable and precious thing you can ever give someone, is your time.
This week the Hinchinbrook Community Support Centre celebrated the achievements of their dedicated volunteers who assist at the centre in various roles.
Volunteers at the centre gathered for a celebration of their achievements throughout the year.

Guest speaker Marie-Claude Brown Manager, from Volunteering North Queensland spoke about how the organisation assists those willing to volunteer for non for profit organisations.
‘They are responsible with assisting individuals by matching them to a role and also helping organisations look for suitable volunteers
‘By celebrating National Volunteer Week, we are able to pause for a moment and commend the efforts of our volunteers.’
‘It’s about acknowledging the importance of their roles and the impact they have on a community.’
‘I believe everyone should take a leaf from the Hub’s book, with how efficiently everything runs with their volunteers.’ she said.
HCSC Team Leader Mirella Pallanza said, ‘Our centre would not exist without our volunteers.’
Throughout the event the volunteers had the opportunity to relax and enjoy the company of others and were treated to a lovely meal.
HCSC Volunteer Coordinator Marilyn Pavetto said, ‘We have volunteers who assist in a variety of roles including the Community Garden, bus drivers to deliver clients to medical appointments in Townsville, Coffee Connect Seniors Morning events, sorting through donations and administration tasks.
