MORE than 200,000 tonnes of cane were crushed last week.

Overall there was an improvement of 0.29 of a unit in CCS levels over the previous week. This takes the weekly average to 14.28 units.

With about a month remaining until the end of the 2020 cane season, road users are again reminded about the dangers associated with cane trains. There were two serious incidents at crossing equipped with flashing lights in the past week. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries, however, both cars sustained significant damage.
