Carols with an ocean view – Forrest Beach, the perfect place to bring in the festive season

The Christmas spirit is alive and buzzing at Forrest Beach, as the community prepares to kick off the festive season with their annual “Carols By Candlelight” evening, this Friday 4th December at Progress Park.

The event, hosted by the Forrest Beach Progress Association, will commence from 5:30pm with food and drinks available for purchase and carols beginning at 7:00pm.

There will be a special guest appearance by the big man himself, Santa and a fireworks display to cap off the festivities.

Progress Association President, Barbara Bricker said she was looking forward to the event after the year 2020 was.

“We are excited to host this event and bring the community together to celebrate Christmas and the things that really matter, especially after such a challenging year,” Ms Bricker said.

“We have a great evening planned with food, singing, fireworks and Santa, all with that perfect Forrest Beach ocean view and we welcome all to join us, including visitors,” she said.

After the challenges and uncertainty of 2020 and many carol events being cancelled or planning to stream online, it is wonderful to hear community Christmas carols around the region are still able to go ahead.

“The only difference from years gone by is that we have had to supply Council with a Covid-safe plan and obtain the appropriate permit from them to go ahead as usual.

“We ask that when people are setting down their blankets and chairs, to please be COVID aware and space their family or group at a safe 1.5m distance from each other,” Ms Bricker said.

“We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy, prosperous and COVID-safe New Year.

“We live in a great community, with great people who make it a wonderful place to live,” she said.

The Christmas song and cheer will continue in Ingham with the local “Carols By Candlelight” being held at Rotary Park on Saturday 19th December from 5:30pm.
