COWGIRLS are God’s wildest angels.
They have cowboy hats as halos and horses for wings.
Heel toe, docie doe, come baby, let’s go boot scootin’…
Get down, turn around and go out of town to the QCWA Country Girls Night Out annual hoedown.
On Saturday the 19 June women from all over the district headed out for a night of fun, laughter and some dancing.
The QCWA hall was adorned with fairy lights and beautifully decorated with rustic country styled centrepieces which hung from the ceiling.
A photo booth decked out with sunflowers and wagon wheel, hay and saddles was a huge hit amongst the crowd.
The guests were treated to grazing platters prepared by the local members of the QWCA Abergowrie/Long Pocket branch.
Keep an eye out for any upcoming events held by the branch. They organise various functions held throughout the year for the community to enjoy.
The group are always looking for women who may be interested in joining the branch.
It’s a great way to socialise and meet new people and give you the opportunity to help organise community events.
This week the QCWA Abergowrie/Long Pocket branch received fantastic news as they were successful with a grant from FRRR Strengthening Rural Communities. This will enable the branch to purchase new chairs for the hall, which will be a great addition for their community events and private function hire.
