Herbert River Mills: Week 24 report

The Herbert region’s 2021 crushing season was finalised at Victoria Mill on Wednesday 25 November.

Harvesting finished on Tuesday evening and the last cane was crushed on Victoria’s B-side milling train at 9.38am Wednesday.

A combined total of 3,797,248 tonnes of cane was crushed at Wilmar’s Victoria and Macknade mills for the season.

The average CCS for the season was 12.73 units, which is 0.46 of a unit below the 2020 season average.

Members of the public are once again reminded that locomotive movements will remain in progress over the next week for cane bin maintenance and storage requirements.

Many thanks to Wilmar employees, cane growers and harvesting contractors for their hard work and cooperation during the 2021 season.
