Herbert river mills – week 13 update

Intermittent rain events continue to disrupt harvesting and crushing operations this season.

Just under 190,000 tonnes of cane was processed for the week, which is a good result given Macknade Mill stopped crushing for two days due to wet weather.

CCS levels remain below budget with the season-to-date CCS sitting at 12.61 units.

Victoria Mill will undertake a four-hour shredder stop on A-side on Monday 13 September. Victoria’s B-side will have a cleaning intermission on Wednesday 15 September.

With school holidays commencing on Friday 17 September, parents and guardians are urged to remind children about the importance of staying well away from cane rail corridors and agricultural operations.

For those travelling through the district, please remember to approach cane rail crossings with caution and always use your train brain.
