Video: Property offence charges, Heatley

Police have charged a teenage male with 22 offences following an arrest in Heatley in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Police used a tyre deflation device to intercept an alleged stolen car around 5.10am on May 26 on Fulham Road at Heatley and located the male nearby on a roof.

Late yesterday police charged the 17-year-old male with seven counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, six counts of stealing, four counts of burglary, two counts of robbery in company, and one count each of armed robbery, attempted burglary and dangerous operation of a vehicle.

The armed robbery charge relates to an alleged incident at Alligator Creek Road, Alligator Creek on May 14 where a male broke into a house and threatened the resident with a machette.

The robbery in company charges relate to an alleged incident on May 18, on Anne Street in Aitkenvale where a woman’s bag and Mercede Benz were stolen by two males and an alleged incident at Kokoda Street, Idalia on May 19 where a woman was approached by a male who allegedly stole her bag and then used her keys to steal her Kia Seltos.

The unlawful use of a motor vehicle charges relate to incidents at Lannercost Street, Ingham on May 10, Observation Rise, Julago on May 14, Primrose Street, Belgian Gardens and Ahearne Street, Hermit Park on May 17, Railway Avenue, Railway Estate and Summerland Drive, Deeragun on May 22 and Tableland Terrace, Mount Louisa on May 26.

He appeared in Townsville Childrens Court today and has been remanded in custody to re-appear in June.

Investigations are continuing.
